As I sit sipping my coffee and preparing for my day I took a quick peek out the window to see how the morning was shaping up. I saw the snow on the ground and again I turn into a little girl…I loved the first snow as a child. It meant christmas was right around the corner. If you know me at all you know I am the CINDY LOU WHO of my family. My christmas tree is always the first to go up. I love how the first snow blankets theground in sparkly stark white. It sticks to the trees and leaves everything looking like a winter wonderland. It makes you forget what’s underneath. It is like a new beginning. I always thought of the first snow as alittle magical.
It reminds me of Gods grace and mercy. How they are new every morning. It doesn’t matter what happened the day before we can be assured that we can begin again with God. His forgiveness washes us completely clean and gives us a brand new start. We are sparkly white like the first snow.
Isaiah 1:18 ESV
“Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.
Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I hope in Him.
I hear some little voices walking up my driveway. It is time to start my day.
Have an amazing day and remember his mercies are like new fallen snow.
